Karl and I helped plan Red Ribbon Week this year at Kelly’s school. It has been a FUN week…a lot of work but so worth it when you see the kids so excited! We kept them busy with fun activities and will wrap up our Red Ribbon Week tomorrow with “Sock out drugs day” where the kids will wear their craziest pair of socks. Karl was able to take some time off from work…Kelly really liked having him there!!
Tying red ribbons all over the school
Love the crazy face Jake is making!
Wednesday was Spirit Day…wear as much red as you can! Some of the students had red everything…including hair!!
We had some of the Irvine fire fighters passing out red licorice after school.
I think the highlight of the week was the Red Ribbon Pizza Night that the Irvine coalition hosts. We had a pizza party with some of our Greentree friends and the pizzas were delivered by Irvine firefighters and police officers with lights and sirens! SO MUCH FUN!!
The look on the kids faces was priceless. Watching them drive down our street with the sirens blaring was great! They passed out stickers, Red Ribbon cups and bracelets to the kids…so cute!! We will definitely be doing this again next year and probably the year after that!
